A 5% concentration of CSO2™ was used to test its antimicrobial disinfectant effect on various micro-organisms. The test employed methods described in the U.S. Pharmacopeia [USP] antimicrobial preservative efficacy evaluation for CSO2™
Samples CSO2™ were inoculated with test organisms. Samples were then removed immediately and after 7, 14, 21, and 28 days for the product and assayed for surviving organisms. The percent reduction in the level of test organisms was calculated for each time interval.

In all cases CSO2™ met the requirements for an effective antimicrobial biocide against the standard test organisms.
The efficacy tests do not represent CSO2™ as a classified or approved disinfectant or microbiological agent. However, the research indicates that CSO2™ does have an immediate, and lasting biocidal affect on anaerobic microorganisms.
